Why scoop
an Ostad?
Years
back when Malaysia was none other than Umno and Kuttyisme, it took a Lim ― a Chinese and ‘one-hell-
of-a DAP-bigot’ ― to raise it in Parliament that something was terribly wrong with BMF, before
an ordinary Malay, a government servant like me realised that something was not
right about the Regime.
The
question I asked then and now is “WHY?”
A few
days back, it took a Lim, a Chinese and a leader in the Pakatan Rakyat to raise
it publicly that an Opposition leader in our Parliament must be accorded a ministerial
status for the his roles and responsibility to the nation.
The
question I have been asking is “WHY must it come from “one-hell-of-a-Chinese
bigot?”

On the
night of 13 May 2013, it took a group of young Malaysians to organise a candle
night vigil at Pudu Raya’s vicinity to say “No to racism”. When I told him that we are also invited to
the programme, he gladly agreed, “Yes, yes we have to go to support them.”
When Arul
saw that Cikgu Ishak Surin was there that night, he eased out of the crowd to
hug the Cikgu like he has just found his long-lost brother. To me they are buddies in politics and real-life
comrades. Yes we know that Arul of PSM and
Cikgu Ishak of PAS have been sharing the
same background.
The
question I do not have to ask is “Here in the heartland of Capitalism who has
been responsible for branding, equating and badmouthing socialism?”

Last but
not least, when a national Malay daily needs ‘a scoop’, why must it scoop an
Ostad from the underworld of UG?
