When frogs are the mightiest

Actions, yes actions ― not just mere words

From Collins COBUILD Idioms Dictionary, HarperCollins Publishers, Second Edition, 2004, we have the following entry:

“Actions

If you say “actions speak louder than words”, you mean that people show what they really think and feel by what they do, rather than by what they say.  People sometimes use this expression when they want to criticize someone who says one thing but does something else.”

On Sunday, the 10th of October 2010, we spotted and captured this image while we were in Kota Bharu.  Zali, our camera man was busy recording the Chinese Temple in Limau Manis Kota Bharu, Kelantan when I recorded this piece for our readers.

The Jawi script is about a Muslim Cemetery, Jalan Hamzah, Limau Manis, Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

Yes, the Muslim cemetery has a Chinese Temple as its neighbour.

Compare this with what happened in our Parliament this week.  The Perkasa chief, the champion of the Malays, the self-elected Malay warrior did it again in this land of 1Malaysia.

From the Malaysiakini portal, we have this reaction:

Dr Hatta Ramli (PAS-Kuala Krai) said the Pakatan Rakyat does not condone such behaviour and strongly criticises Ibrahim's actions.

"We want to distance ourselves from his behaviour, which clearly does not reflect the values and mannerisms of Malay culture... we do not want to be related in any way to the culture brought about by Ibrahim Ali and Perkasa," he said.

In terms of compassion and love for its own fellow species ― humans on this part of the universe, cannot even come close to apes. Sad but true, in this make-believe world of ours, frogs are the mightiest of all creatures of the Jungle.

bleed not your dreams; spare thy hope
of that eerie never-ending, crunching pain
nothing would ever happen…
for nothing has really happened.
